LOVE STORIES Last You A LIfe Time by CeCe ChoCho Young Ashley was having a great end of the summer party at her house. She invited all of her friends to come over and go swimming in her lake. One of her best friends Zach was there. Not only was he one of her best friends, but also her ex-boyfriend, but it didn't bother her to much. Well, as everyone was jumping off the diving board and swimming in the lake Ashley walked up stairs to go get her sun glasses. Zack slowly followed her up stairs. Ashley grabbed the sun glasses and turn around to find laying on her bed. "Get off!" she yelled as she walked out of her room back down stairs. AGain Zach slowly followed. "What are you doing?" Asked Ashley. Zach was following her like a lost puppy dog. Ashley went back outside and jumped in holding on to her sun glasses, then she stuck them back on as she climbing into a raft and laid there trying to get a tan. "Hey any of you kids want some more drinks, we're running low." Said Ashley's mom. "Yeah grab us some more pespi and cherry coke please." Yelle Ashley from in the water and then her mom drove off in her car. "Hey your mom is gone cann we go to your room." Asked Zach. "NO!" Said Ashley talking to another friend of hers, JOrdan. "Ashley he likes you." Said Jordan. "No he just wants some." Said Ashley. "No he just doesn't know how to ask you out." Said Jordan. "He already did that twice, the 1st time lasted 3 days and the 2nd time lasted 12 hrs." Said Ashley. "That's why he is afraid to ask you out, cuase you might say no." Said Jordan. "Well, if he ask I would." Said Ashley as she jumped into the lake and splashed raven and Katie. "Ashley!" Yelled Katie, Raven laughed becuase Katie looked liked a draowned rat. "You look funny." Said Raven. "Ashley I see Zach, can i tell him what you said?" Asked Jordan. "Whatever." Said Ashley as she swam under the dock. "Hey Jordan can i talk to you?" Asked Zach. "Yeah sure." Zack and Jordan walked the the porch in the front and sat down. "Jordan will Ashley go out with me, if i ask her" Asked Zach. "Yeah, she said she would." Said Jordan. "Ok well i need to get her alone." Said Zack. "'l help gt your guys alone." Said Jordan. "Thanks man." Said Zach. "No problem." Said Jordan. "Ashley some one wants to talk to you." Ashley got out and wrapped a towel around herself. "Yes?" then she saw zach. SHe sat down next to him. "Ashley i know evrytime we go out it last shorterand sorter, but if you go out iwth me this time, i promise it will last a life time." Ashley was so touched by what he said she gave him a huge kiss. "I guess that is a Yes?" Asked Zac, shocked about he kiss. "Yes!" Said Ashley wit tears in her eyes. Roses, Schmoses; Love, Schmove by Lyla Ov Movies have ruined it for lovers worldwide. Anything that a person might want to say or do to express their feelings for a loved one has been overused, overrated and you can guarantee that someone else has already been there and done that. Nothing is ever original anymore. From getting down on one knee to proposing marriage, to a dozen roses sent to you on Valentine’s Day or proposing marriage on Valentine’s Day. None of this stuff is truly real and meaningful. What happens after a week goes by and you’ve got rotting flowers in your home? One day in a year shouldn’t make a difference to couples; everyday should be Valentine’s Day. Why celebrate love on the same day as billions of other people do? I am so disenchanted with the whole notion of romance that I don’t see the need for it. The knight-in-shining-armor; the forever till eternity promises; love you always, never leave you; I have eyes only for you, etcetera, etcetera. None of the crap above has any meaning to me, and that’s what’s so sad. Take the 1996 movie, Bed of Roses, starring Christian Slater and Mary Stuart Masterson. Slater’s character, Lewis Farrell floods Lisa Walker’s (Masterson) apartment with thornless purple roses. That happened in a couple of scenes, but how long did that actually last? Women, does it really pull at your heart? Come on, do guys actually do that, or is it something writers put in just for the element of romance? I wish I could believe that there is someone for everyone, but that’s not what reality is. I want to believe in it all so much, my head hurts whenever I think about the time when it will be my turn for real. However, I know I’ll only end up more disappointed than actually thinking about it. Speaking of movies, you can bet when someone says: “My heart aches when I am not around you,” some actor or executive producer has already said it. Is there anything out there that proves that love still reigns true in the world, or shall I seal the coffin now? My friend Natalie summed it all up when she said that no one values the promises made in relationships anymore. Love has become a tool of economics; something used to blind the eyes and minds of humans, something to make the world go round. People don’t see love and the dangers it brings, what it stands for, until…KA-BOOM! It all comes tumbling down in one massive implosion. Why spend all your life searching for that someone special, just to have it all fall apart when you do? Divorce: An ugly word; one in two marriages fail. With those odds, why do people still get married? Why say: “I’ll love you always, till death do we part…through sickness, health, richness, poorness…” and so on, when five, ten, fifteen, twenty years later, the love a couple once shared and made over the years begin to fray and divide two people who were suppose to share their entire lives together? It’s heartbreaking, all that time together and…POOF! Separate ways. What’s the use of promising vows that are empty and no one keeps them anyway? Harsh indeed. Then there are the Prenuptial Agreements. Isn’t love about trust, respect, loyalty and honor? Rhetorical question: Isn’t marriage supposed to last a lifetime? There is only one thing more powerful and much, much stronger than love. Money. Money buys you status. Money buys you anything and everything you’ve ever dreamed of. Money buys you friends, but they cost a lot more than expected. The underlying point is, money bought you friends anyway. I don’t like the word ‘divorce,’ but I hate the word ‘love’ even more. In the context of sharing your life with someone whom you love, only to end in divorce, it’s not appealing. I prefer to be single and happy rather than married and depressed. Guys cop a lot of flack about not being able to commit, some women, too, but it’s understandable. I cannot imagine myself waking up beside the same guy, day in and day out. Falling asleep next to some guy who probably snores like an express train. Don’t even get me started on morning breath! Scenario: In a restaurant, a string Quartet plays romantic violin music. Man gets down on one knee, a diamond ring in full view of every patron, waiter and waitress inside. Woman, is shocked but pleased she’s the center of attention. Man: “I love you. Will you marry me?” Woman, crying: “Yes! I will marry you!” Kiss. And they lived happily ever after. EERRHHH! Wrong. What a typical cliché! Music in the background, a soppy speech that the man probably got off a movie, how many times has that been done? If you wanted to express/profess your love for someone, movies and songs have already done it for you. If a guy said to me: “I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” I’d laugh. Because, 1) When a guy says that, it’s because he’s too much of a man to admit he’s afraid of ending up alone. 2) He’s intoxicated, or, 3) He actually means it...until another woman walks his way. There is a chance he may actually mean it all, but then again, why would someone impose such a life-sentence onto their self? Reason: To give a false sense of security and delude themselves into thinking that the world around them is perfect. The idea of someone loving them is what makes life worth living. That cannot be further from the truth. Some people just want to be lied to. Upon this reasoning, if people want to be lied to, then that must mean that they have some knowledge of the reality around them but deny its existence or ignore its presence. If they closed their eyes, it just might go away. Too much dreaming there, these are the candidates in line for a serving of broken hearts, bitter resentment and a side of cold reality, while others finish off by drinking themselves into a stupor. Love is not an original concept, it’s been around forever, but people have manipulated it and has become the basis of suspicion today. Are there any counteractive solutions to undo the perversion of what love has become? What is love all about? The answer, I’ll leave it to you. If you want original, then the reality of it all is love and romance, distorted and exaggerated in all its many ways exists only in movies and captured in songs. There is no originality. It is but Love. A concept, a vision, a thing used for personal gain, which can bring down even the most powerful human beings. Times are a-changing. The truth shall conquer all and set you free...yaddah, yaddah, yaddah...but lies are more believable, so lie your beating heart out and make the world a happier place. Kindergarten Kiss by Amy I was in kindergarten and i thought this boy named Daniel was really cute. I decided that I was going to kiss him somewhere where no one could see. The place I picked is behind a wall next to the basketball court. I took him there saying that we were going to play basketball then i pulled him behind the wall then kissed him on the cheek. He pushed me and then ran away. When we went inside he told on me. Then I told her he hit me right after. So she made us go to a corner and work it out. I said sorry then he said sorry. We went back to are seats and it was over. My True love. by babydoll at first i have worked with this guy for about five years and i left to a a baby at witch i got a job somewhere eles. well i finally when back to where where i had worded before and i had stared dating his best friend and i dated him for about eight months and one day i asked joe if he wonted to go out one night he saied sure so we have benn dateing for almost a year now.i finally asked him why didn't he ask before he says he had liked me for years but never thought we would hit it off .but we did and ilove him so much. The Love of My Life by Loving Paul I met the love of my life, one day in school!! We were in the same gym class, and it was only the 4th gym class of the year. I had thought he was cute from the very first one, but I had kept it a secret. Well, we had to golf that day and just my luck, that very cute boy, whom I had a little crush on was in my group. So we started to laugh because I could not hit the golf ball if my life depended on it. After joking for about 45 mintues which seemed like forever, because I was so nervous, it was time to go change. So we went inside and were changing in the locker room, when my best friend who was also in my group looked over at my smiling face (that hadn't stopped since I found out he was in my group)and said, "I think that you are in love" I laughed and said "I can't be I just started talking to him." Two weeks later, he asked me out and we have been ever since!!! So we are madly in love and can't wait to get married when we are older and have a family!!! I LOVE YOU PAUL!!!!
